We provide courses for both the interested Recreational Driver and the Professional driver whose job involves driving off road or on non tarmac surfaces.
Under Health and Safety legislation all employers must provide adequate training for the proper use of work and related equipment (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations - PUWER) and that includes vehicles.
The requirement of training is laid down in Regulation 9 of PUWER 98 and states:
- Every employer shall ensure that all persons who use work equipment have received adequate training for the purposes of health and safety, including training in the methods which may be adopted when using the work equipment, any risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken.
- Every employer shall ensure that any of his employees who supervise or manages the use of work equipment has received adequate training for the purposes of health and safety, including training in the methods which may be adopted when using the work equipment any risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken.
Our courses all comply with this requirement and the Borda Codes of Practice have been lodged with the HSE.
We believe the BORDA (British Off Road Driving Association) schemes provide the best outcome and syllabus for UK conditions while providing sufficient time for practice in a controlled environment as there is a maximum of two delegates to one instructor. Borda courses can be taken on either an"Attended" or "Assessed" route follow the link for more details on each course. All courses are taken in our vehicles though by arrangement your vehicles could be used.
